This group is a spinoff of a facebook group that was started to discuss and give a refreshed perspective on issues germane to urban America. In addition to discussing the pertinent issues facing urban America we wish to be a vehicle of progress by providing some solutions to and solve some of the myriad problems that beset the community. Mentoring, volunteering and non-profit community organizations are but some of the means by which we plan on bringing to fruition a positive impact on the community through our Meet Up gatherings however the epicenter of the movement will be ongoing and engaging dialogue from the eclectic range of voices and ideas of the cool people like yourself that are sprinkled throughout the community. While the nature and intent of these Meet-Ups are community building and directly dealing with some of the biggest problems in our community we like to enjoy ourselves as well as each other. It is for that reason that most of the Meet Up locations will be at a restaurant lounge or night club. The events will be held mostly during the early part of the day on a preferred Saturday. Think town hall meeting plus day party and you will kind of get the picture of what an Unplugged Cool People Meet Up will be. Examples of topical discussions: Education, Black male and female relations, current events (politics , sports & pop culture)
