Welcome to Thousand Oaks Book Club!
We are one big family of Book Lovers, meaning members often attend several different groups within the TO Book Club. I encourage you to get involved! The members of this group are extremely welcoming and genuinely care for one another....and we have a lot of fun!
* When you join, I ask that you include a photo of yourself so that it will be easier for everyone to find/recognize one another at meetups.
*It is not my intent to make our group all about rules and requirements. But in consideration of the amount of time and energy it takes to organize meetups and try to attract and keep quality members, some basic guidelines need to be put in place.
Please be sure you sign up to our events before showing up!
* Don't sign up unless you're certain you'll be able to attend a meetup. Members signing up for meetups should make it a priority to attend the meetups they sign up for. I understand things come up, but I think we all know when canceling is excessive. Other members are inconvenienced and I consider it selfish to hold on to a spot on a RSVP list until a few days before an event as this is not enough time for the next member on the waitlist to obtain the book and finish reading it. Hopefully enforcing a policy giving priority to those with positive attendance histories (few cancellations) will change the behavior of those canceling on a regular basis.
- If you do sign up and your schedule changes, please change your RSVP to No:
2 no-shows and you may be bumped to the waitlist for future meetups.
3 no-shows and you may be dropped from the Thousand Oaks Book Club.
By signing up to attend these events, you agree and confirm to discharge the organizer, co-organizer, and any event host from any personal injury or any legal dispute. We are friends and take NO responsibility for you in any way, shape, or form! You are responsible for yourself.
Thank you for understanding!
