Introduction

Hi, I'm really getting into the thrift store thing. I've found some great stuff while thriftin' with Mike (my boyfriend and co-organizer of this meetup : ) I think it'd be kinda cool to be on the lookout for stuff for our friends and for each other.

What is your favorite thrift store in NYC?

Not sure, I really like the Salvation Army in Hell's Kitchen in NYC but there is also some great stuff in Williamsburg. I really like Housing Works. They have locations all over the city. Plus all of my furniture is from Housing Works!!!!!!!!!I love my 'Charlie Rose' table. Its big and round and fits a lot of people and didn't cost much.

Who has the cheaper prices - Salvation Army, Goodwill, or Housing Works?

Hmmm, well I'm not sure. Perhaps Aunt Sally's. I do really well at Goodwill sometimes but probably cause there's more stuff that I like, not sure its cheaper. But I guess you can always go cheaper right! That's what a good thrifter does!

I met a lot of warm people who love to go around looking for great stuff. We all kind of helped each other out when we could, just keeping an eye out for stuff we thought the other might like. Everyone is friendly the best part is no one fought over stuff, LOL!
