Introduction

I've been called cheap, frugal & thrifty, as well as lots of other things I won't mention here... Well, guess what - I AM! That's right, I REFUSE to pay ridiculous prices for brand label designers on Madison Avenue. I'd much rather have money to eat!

What is your favorite thrift store in NYC?

Although I've found Great Stuff at several different places in NYC, Queens, & Brooklyn, I must say my Favorite thrift store is OUTCASTS, a wonderful church thrift store in Hell's Kitchen on 10th Avenue between west 46th & 47th Streets. Why? Because my good friend Kat works there. I've found a lot of hidden treasure at Outcasts, and the price is always right... I also run NYC GRINDHOUSE - a group of crazies & weirdos that are into old 70's exploitation classics, Cult cinema, and Roger Corman B movies -- www.NYCGRINDHOUSE.com My contact email is MichaelKimRiegelman@gmail.com & my cell # is (347) 523-3937 . I live in Hell's Kitchen, Madhattan!

Who has the cheaper prices - Salvation Army, Goodwill, or Housing Works?

Hum - that's a tough one. They all have comparable prices. Depending on which borough you are visiting, and what neighborhood in that borough, the prices will vary. But my experience has been that Goodwill offers the best 'bang-for-your-buck' - plus, they are the only place with a FREE Club Rewards Card!

  • Hello, Michael! I am sorry, all your letters for some curious reason went directly to spam! I also wanted to share an idea with you - what if we choose a certain topic or, say, an article for one meet up. Then there will be more incentive for the people to come - at least for those who are interested in that subject. And they will also have a chance to prepare themselves. Just an idea!
