Indoor rock climbing at Mission cliffs!

This is going to be our last event before a bit of a holiday travel break!

Mission Cliffs has a 50 foot top-rope and lead-climbing wall, as well as a large bouldering area.

The place does get crowded but if we get there around 6:30, it should be fine. I'm solid on climbing and belaying...and should be able to tell you what the staff are looking for when you take the belay test. For those that don't want to take the belay test, the bouldering area offers more-than-adequate challenge for a couple of hours of climbing.

Afterwards, we'll of course go out drinking somewhere nearby.

The rate is $18 for a day pass. I'm not sure if rentals are included, or extra. More pricing details are here.

Good fun! Not too crowded so we could get exhausted on whichever route we wanted : )

So the belay test is separate from the 6pm class and can be taken anytime as you walk in! (in case anyone else cares to know that! ;) )

No I meant I do actually know how to belay - but I was under the impression that they wouldn't let you climb unless you take their belay test, maybe some legal reason. Is that the case?

Do I have to take the class though? I do know how to belay... sounds expensive and lengthy!

Whoops, because I'm terrible with a calendar. I plan on just bouldering, for which no belay test is required. But, showing up at 6 for the introductory class is a great plan if you want to try tackling the big walls.

Wait a minute why does this say dec 27?

Also, if we've never climbed there before, we need to take the belay test, don't we? Is that the 6pm class or can it be anytime?
