Are you ready to do something positve to thrive regardless of what happens?

I believe it is the right time in history for this. Mature technology and need have come together. I have been motivated recently by Richard Heinberg's "End of Growth", Jeremy Rifkin's "The Third Industrial Revolution", Diamandis & Kotler's "Abundance - The Future is Better Than You Think", and Macy & Johnstone's "Active Hope".

Are you uncomfortable with the every man for himself mindset, while respecting others choices within an agreed partnership agreement?

I believe in being independently dependent.

Do you want to create a more sustainable village that is remote enough to not be overrun or one close to Dallas as a place to commute from or retire to?

Replication is essential. I hope to learn and then teach so that all beings have equal access to a full life. I am aware of Transition Towns and Resilience Circles as replication benchmarks.

What are your strengths you would offer a community? Ie gardening, meat preparation, aquaculture, weaving, leather work and other skills

I am a materials scientist/engineer by profession. I have experience in organic and deep bed gardening. I have kept bees. I compost the traditional bin method, vermiculture, bokashi, and flies. I have begun learning hydroponics and have a deep interest in aquaponics. I have general carpentry and building skills. In addition, I am a trained crisis counselor, know yoga, meditation and other stress reduction techniques. I can do both individual and large group training. I have installed rain barrels in my Garland yard and have converted the yard from sod to xeriscape with an emphasis on butterfly and bird attraction (thanks to my lovely bride Elaine!)

are you financially and or physically able to help creat a village? We are getting starting on building a village

I am interested in integrating concepts for sustainability into a 21st century lifestyle that works with the natural flow of our planet and resources.
