This event is being hosted by Alex, our group's classic film buff who heads up Toronto Classic Films, one of Belinda's favourite meetup groups.
The Shop Around the Corner is a romantic comedy from 1940, produced and directed by Ernst Lubitsch. Two clerks, played by James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan, working in the same gift shop in Hungary can hardly stand one another. Neither one of them realize that they’re falling in love with each other as anonymous pen pals.
The Shop Around the Corner has an outstanding 100 per cent rating from Rottentomatoes.com. The movie, "You’ve Got Mail", starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan is the modern remake of this classic film. More information.
Enjoy brunch before the movie. The following items will be served: Scrambled eggs, toast, jam, bacon, sausage, home fries, breakfast wraps, yoghurt, French toast and syrup, fresh fruit. Bon appetite!
