Every Thursday night New York City galleries from Soho to Chelsea exhibit the newest works of the artiste du jour. Throngs of art aficionados make the mad dash between galleries, taking in the shows, throwing back mediocre glasses of wine, and scarfing down tiny crust-less sandwiches. And while the art is sometimes less than exciting the scene never is. Solo contemplation of a 20 foot abstract impasto is fine but gallery hopping is best done in the company of others. So every week we'll put together a list of the best openings, meet at a designated spot, and let the hop begin. Afterwards, for those so inclined, we'll hit a local bar to discuss how wonderful or god awful the night's openings were.
