Startup and Launch II: Venture Life Cycle Series

TiE is committed not only to encourage innovative thinking but also help thought leaders to be successful entrepreneurs. To support this mission, TiE Carolinas has planned a series of dinner events and workshops in 2013 covering four distinct stages of the entire life cycle of an entrepreneurial venture. The life cycle series is aimed to convey the entrepreneurs, who are thought leaders, the challenges they could face in launching and running their businesses, and the need to adequately use their delivery strengths to transform their innovations to successful businesses. The life cycle series is applicable to a broad spectrum of entrepreneurs:

  • those who have great ideas but have cold feet to build those into businesses
  • those who have started their ventures and struggling to make those successful
  • those who have success stories and still would like to hear stories from other successes

We had the first event of this series on March 21st addressing the ‘Ideation & Discovery’ stage of the life cycle. The panel discussion focused on ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ of pre-launch days of an entrepreneurial venture to increase the guarantee of success during its launch and beyond.

This is the second event addresses the ‘Startup & Launch’ stage of the venture life cycle. This panel discusses key aspects of a venture launch such as capital procurement, developing a working team, identifying partners on both sales and sourcing sides, and strategies for the competitive advantage in the market place. The panelists and the moderator will share these aspects from their experience of successfully launching their own ventures as well as working with other successful businesses.

This panel discussion courts three outstanding local entrepreneurs, Amit Singh, Sumit Vohra and Brendan Morrissey, who have gone through the pain related to the early stages of their ventures and launched successful businesses, which are fully operational now. The three panelists are from diverse industries which further enriches the conversation.

The discussion is going to be moderated by another distinguished personality of the Triangle area entrepreneurial landscape, Craig Stone. Craig is not only an entrepreneur who has launched multiples successful ventures; he is also an active investor in many successful ventures in the Triangle area.
