Play information:

Winner of the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for drama, How I Learned to Drive is the story of a woman who learns the rules of the road and of life from behind the wheel of a car. It is a funny yet devastating tale of survival as seen through the lens of a troubling sexual relationship between a young girl and an older man. It tackles the complex issues of growing up, romance, insecurity, sex and fun in a most forgiving way.

Come join us for our first TIME OUT book discussion! Yay!

The book: Inferno by Dante Alighieri.

Inferno is the first poem or volume of The Divine Comedy and is an account of Dante's own journey, guided by the ancient Roman poet Virgil, through the nine circles of hell. During this journey Dante encounters and holds conversations with the souls of the damned. At the end of the journey, at the bottom of hell, Dante must face Satan and confront the problem of how to escape from the underworld.

(more on The Divine Comedy)

Most local libraries carry copies of The Divine Comedy or Inferno. There are also plenty of used ones available on Amazon. You can also download a free ebook copy at Project Gutenberg.

We are open to exploring any topic in Inferno. Feel free to mark your favorite verses for discussion.

So come and let's chat about Hell over a nice cup of tea. Ah, such a delightful way to pass a Saturday afternoon.
