FULL - WAIT LIST. Email me ([masked]) to get on the wait list for this trip, in case of cancellations. We will camp at scenic Mueller State Park, which is approx. 20 minutes from the historic mining towns of Victor and Cripple Creek. Mueller State Park is a wildlife refuge and has many biking, hiking and horseback riding trails. Mueller State Park is about 1 hr and 45 minutes from Denver, and about 35 minutes from Colorado Springs. Go to this link for more info: Mueller State Park. There is plenty of great fishing in the area: Fishing in Victor.
Victor is having their Gold Rush Days celebration this weekend, and there will be architectural house tours, a parade, and numerous events. Link: Victor, CO Gold Rush Days.
There are many attractions and activities in Cripple Creek as well, including historic walking tours, antiquing, shopping and sightseeing. Link: Cripple Creek, CO.
The entire area is rich in mining history and tours of the historic mines are available. Electric hook ups will be available at each camp site. Water, restrooms and showers are available.
This will be a weekend trip. We will have a pot luck dinner on Friday evening, light breakfast on Sat. and Sun. mornings and will have a group dinner on Saturday night. Total costs $100 for the first participant including food and camping fees. Second participant in same trailer will be $50. The campground has cabins and tent sites if you do not have a trailer yet. Cabins start at $140 per night for the whole cabin. You must have an annual pass or a daily pass ($7 per day) to stay at the state park, in addition to the camp site fees. If you don't have an annual pass, be sure to pick up your daily pass at the entrance when you come into the park.
Dogs are permitted but must be on leash at all times in the park. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. This is a wildlife refuge and it is very important that dogs are leashed, not merely on "voice control." Cats are permitted inside your trailer.
Deposit of $50 due January 1, 2014. Remaining $50 due June 1, 2014.
If you signed up, your deposit of $50 for each TRAILER is due by January 1. If you have more than one person in your trailer, the deposit is $50 total, but the cost for both of you will be $150.
Mueller State Campground is sold out for this weekend already. Please make your plans as soon as possible. Remember, we are likely to have more demand than supply and if you cancel and someone else takes your spot, you will receive a refund.
