Camping Rally - Gold Rush Days, Victor, CO

FULL - WAIT LIST.  Email me ([masked])  to get on the wait list for this trip, in case of cancellations.  We will camp at scenic Mueller State Park, which is approx. 20 minutes from the historic mining towns of Victor and Cripple Creek.  Mueller State Park is a wildlife refuge and has many biking, hiking and horseback riding trails.  Mueller State Park is about 1 hr and 45 minutes from Denver, and about 35 minutes from Colorado Springs.  Go to this link for more info: Mueller State Park.  There is plenty of great fishing in the area:  Fishing in Victor.

Victor is having their Gold Rush Days celebration this weekend, and there will be architectural house tours, a parade, and numerous events.  Link:  Victor, CO Gold Rush Days.

There are many attractions and activities in Cripple Creek as well, including historic walking tours, antiquing, shopping and sightseeing.  Link:  Cripple Creek, CO.

The entire area is rich in mining history and tours of the historic mines are available.   Electric hook ups will be available at each camp site.  Water, restrooms and showers are available.

This will be a weekend trip.  We will have a pot luck dinner on Friday evening, light breakfast on Sat. and Sun. mornings and will have a group dinner on Saturday night.  Total costs $100 for the first participant including food and camping fees.  Second participant in same trailer will be $50.  The campground has cabins and tent sites if you do not have a trailer yet.  Cabins start at $140 per night for the whole cabin. You must have an annual pass or a daily pass  ($7 per day) to stay at the state park, in addition to the camp site fees.  If you don't have an annual pass, be sure to pick up your daily pass at the entrance when you come into the park.

Dogs are permitted but must be on leash at all times in the park. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.  This is a wildlife refuge and it is very important that dogs are leashed, not merely on "voice control." Cats are permitted inside your trailer.

Deposit of $50 due January 1, 2014.  Remaining $50 due June 1, 2014.

If you signed up, your deposit of $50 for each TRAILER is due by January 1.  If you have more than one person in your trailer, the deposit is $50 total, but the cost for both of you will be $150.

Mueller State Campground is sold out for this weekend already.  Please make your plans as soon as possible.  Remember, we are likely to have more demand than supply and if you cancel and someone else takes your spot, you will receive a refund.

Contact me at[masked] or [masked] with any questions.

Below is a schedule of events organized for Victor Rally. Feel free to join in or do your own thing. Important: please bring a complete set of dinnerware and silverware. These will not be provided. Yes, me too. And the weather is supposed to be nice. I may swap the times for the hike and the house tour on Saturday because of lightning concerns. The hike would then be in the morning. Stay tuned.

Any spot is fine with us except the back in ones. This will be our first outing with the camper and I'd hate to spoil it with a mishap. LOL

Hi Nancy, if you want to. I can be available to help get you back in.

Ms Donna since I'm in a tent do you have a place picked out for me? Trees would be nice, electric and water obviously not a factor. I could even use one of the walk in tent sites if needed.

    February 8, 2014

    • Donna S.

You will be on one of the group campsites, probably mine. The group campsites each accommodate a tent. I haven't decided which one yet, but possibly 75 or 77.

      February 8, 2014

  • Julie M.

Hi Donna, I just got your list of sites. I would like to request one of the sites in the group camp ground, #70 - #80. Thanks for all your efforts with this.
    Julie

    February 7, 2014

    • Donna S.

      No problem, will do.

      February 8, 2014

  • Donna S.

Thanks to everyone who has responded to the camp site choice email. What a great group! So cooperative and flexible. So far, no one has asked for the same spot and everyone is getting what they asked for. Special thanks to Paula and Vicki for offering to take the back in spots. Here is a link to a web site that will show you pictures of the camp sites. They all look great. I so prefer state campgrounds because all the sites are so spacious. If you've sent me a reply and haven't heard from me, please send me another reply. One person's message was lost on meetup and I want to make sure everyone's voice is being heard.

    February 8, 2014

Hi Donna. I've been looking at the campsites. Is 92 available? If it is, I would like that one.

You guys are funny. Looking forward to seeing you in Victor.

      February 8, 2014

  • Donna S.

I will do my best to accomodate everyone's requests once they come in. Site plan will be announced later this month. If there are any conflicts people who registered earlier will get preference. Plus anyone who has any kind of disability and needs to be closer to everything, please let me know. Anyone who cannot back in their trailer, please let me know. Most of the sites are pull-through. Thank you for your patience. I know that assignment of sites can be tricky, and I hope to keep everyone happy.

    February 8, 2014

  • April W.

Oh I just also saw your email. I would like #70, 71, or 72. I don't really care which one. Thanks for doing this.

    February 7, 2014

    • Donna S.

April I am aware that you have a long trailer and will be sure to put you in a spot that accomodates either of your trailers, in the group sites. 70,71, or 72.

      February 8, 2014

  • Paula

Can you tell us our block of sites?

    February 7, 2014

So disappointed that you won't be there Vicki. You are a big plus to any meet- up that you attend.

      February 4, 2014

Hi Donna, I think I am paid in full. Is there anything I can help with? We are so looking forward to this Meet- up; this will be a first for my husband Bob.

    1 · February 4, 2014

    • Donna S.

And I am so looking forward to it too! You have paid $100. The total for two people is $150, so on June 1 you will owe another $50. I think you said you were interested in helping cooking so I would like to talk to you about that sometime over the next couple of months.

      February 4, 2014

    • Vicki C.

Sounds fine. I would be happy to help out. I am really looking forward to summer and NO SNOW!

      February 4, 2014

  • Jim B.

Hi Donna, looks like I have nothing to do of importance this weekend. So I'm thinking I will go to Mueller and take some pictures of the campsites we will have available for us to use that weekend and maybe we can post them up here so folks know what the sites look like?

    January 28, 2014

    • Donna S.

Sorry you can't make it, but feel free to stop by for a visit. I think probably the evenings are more likely to have a lot of people there.

    Thanks

      1 · January 27, 2014

Thanks, Jim. We cannot occupy the site until noon. But I will let you know as we get closer what kind of help I might need.

      January 27, 2014

  • John B.

Which area do you have reservations in at the campground? Since we don't have a vintage trailer, we'd like to be there, but not right in the middle.

    1 · January 25, 2014

    • Donna S.

You're all signed up, Judy. It is not a problem that your teardrop is not vintage. There is no age requirement for trailers for membership in the club.

      January 26, 2014

    • Donna S.

Anyway, it's "retro," just like my T@B, and it looks great.

Donna is out skiing right now I believe! Just fyi, I joined TCT because I love the FB pg so much - it's full of good info from pros. I think it was $20/yr.

You don't have to join national until you've been on one trip. So sorry you cannot make it to Victor.
