The will be an opportunity for people to get together and tour the lab, discuss the best times to meet, equipment to purchases, training to schedule and some ideas of group projects we could work on together. It's going to be fun!

Wow, there were so many talented designers, engineers, and people who want to build 3d printers, lots of great ideas for group projects.

I am looking forward to meeting with everyone this afternoon. Please meet in the lobby of the CARI building on the seats near the TinkerShop sign (piece of paper) and I can escort you to the CARI Lab.
Is this being advertised on campus at all? Found this through the site, never seen it mentioned on campus.

Though, I have heard that a maker space was in the works from my COMM prof.
I hope you guys allow non-BCIT people to attend for May 7 event because I am very interested and BCIt is close to my home.
I have been a 3D artist for 8 years since studying at Emily Carr and it'd be great if BCIT guys and ECUAD can pool some knowledge together in this exciting, emerging technology.

Yes, please come join us!
Thanks, looking forward to it.
I've been looking into RepRap and other 3D printers for a while. Would love to build my own at some point.

Bryan, you're sending mixed messages. 8-)
No. We're not advertising to people outside of BCIT, but if people outside of BCIT find us, they can come
The group description says "with other engineers, designers and entrepreneurs"... If that means just BCIT students and staff, please let me know. 8-)

For now it will just be BCIT students and staff, since we are only advertising this event to the BCIT network, but as we grow we'll get more people involved.

I have tried to get http://www.bcinventor.com/ to do something like this a while back. If we get something decent rolling, we could invite them to meet with us... possibly rent access to them?

This maker group is for BCIT students interested in 3d printing, laser cutting and meeting with other engineers, designers and entrepreneurs to make innovative prototypes.

ed by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
