10:30ish start. We've been averaging 20-28 people a week now on 4 teams on 2 fields with room to expand to up to 6 teams. We have everything from NFL pylons, team colored jerseys (penny's), flags, cones, and footballs of course. Just bring something to drink (A LOT) and sunscreen if desired. If you decide to play on a regular basis, its only $20 annually -- which is used for equipment, ice, footballs, pylons, jerseys, Meetup costs etc.
Directions: From 1-25. Take Colorado Blvd to Virginia. Turn right on Virginia street. Go up about 1/8 of a mile to Cherry St.. Right on Cherry (parking lot is just past the building on corner). Field is adjacent/diagonal to Cherry Creek Athletic Club.
We had a ton of people Sat (well over the 32 max for 4 teams) and some great games (especially the last couple games).
We just purchased more flags, but now have to buy more already - along with new jerseys. 7 people per team plus 1 sub max is the limit. Some people leave after 12:30ish so if we have more than 32 people to start, anyone’s who’s late will get to play after around 12:30 (if they've paid their annual $20).
We cannot have 3 subs per team again so starting Feb 2 (to give everyone time) if you haven't paid $20 after playing 3 games, you won't be allowed to take someone's spot who's been committed all year.
This is also a competitive league, but I think we’ve all spread the ball around as much as possible – sometimes with less than optimal results due to too many drops overall lately. Thus, there was a consensus among some the “leadership team” and others at lunch yesterday. ... If you’re rusty etc., please don’t work it out during live games so we can keep the momentum going. What the $20 pays for: Most leagues charge around $[masked] for 8-10 weeks…and you get about 40-45 mins of actual playing time. You also have to buy your own equipment etc. and if you want to play the next "season", its another $500 plus per team. Its about $50 per player several times per year. Here your $20 annual membership pays for equipment (some of these are estimates):
$180 Annual Meetup fees
$75 Ice in the summer months (in a big cooler)
$200 New footballs every year (they get wet. wear out, lose their grip etc.)
$170 Sonic flags. They break etc. and we need at least 6 new sets now. (The flags we use are $85 per dozen)
$50-100 New pennies (we have ripped several recently and need more now)
I’ve also purchased more cones, pylons, nylon equipment bags etc.
