Makerspaces/hackerspaces have been popping up all over the world in the last few years. At last count, there were 16 spaces across Florida, but, until now, none in Tally. We're starting one. Our current members members include artists, engineers, designers, brewers, cooks, students and teachers, old folk and young, people who have a project in mind, need a place to do it and people to help. We're looking for a shared workspace for people working on projects that are bigger than they have room for at home or which use tools that might best be shared. Samples of tools shared at other spaces around the world include industrial sewing machines, 3D printers, laser cutters and more.
Meetings are currently being held every other week on Wednesday from 6 to 7 PM. So far, we've incorporated, identified teams, picked a name and are starting to look for space. We have a group web site at http://www.totallyfablab.com where you can find our project documentation.
