Dear Guest,

Welcome - we’re thrilled you share a desire to improve communication and leadership skills!

We invite you to attend one or two meetings as a guest to decide if Toastmasters Evanston is for you.

Punctuality is appreciated so others are not distracted and meetings start/end on time. Please remember to turn off any noise making devices.

If you have not already, submit your information here (or be sure to sign in if you’re at a meeting) and review What Is Toastmasters? to learn about benefits and expectations of members.

Toastmasters meetings share similar elements, but have their own unique atmosphere and cadence at each club. This is why we suggest you get to know our club before making a commitment.

Our meetings generally consist of prepared speeches, Table Topics (opportunities to practice impromptu speaking) and evaluations. A minute of silence after prepared speeches allow for everyone in attendance to jot down feedback for the speaker. Use a notecard to anonymously write your positive comment(s) AND a recommendation - place in the appropriate folder after the meeting.

See Meeting Roles for an explanation of the different ways members participate in successful meetings.

Club officers are happy to discuss joining and accept applications.

Most importantly, relax, observe and have fun!
