The mission of the Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn fosters self-confidence and personal growth.
Each week members are asked to take a role in conducting the meeting. Roles include speaker, evaluator, aah counter, grammarian, Table Topics Master, General Evaluator and Toastmaster to name a few.
Speakers prepare, practice and give short speeches as directed by Toastmaster Internationals Competent Communicator, Competent Leadership or Advanced Leadership guidelines. Speeches are generally 5 - 7 minutes long and members all have a role in listenting to, critiquing and offering words of encouragement to fellow members as they work toward to goal of improving their public speaking.
New members are welcome. Individuals are encouraged to visit our club, learn more about Toastmasters and to consider joining us each Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. The OC Toasters meets at Polly's Pies, 23701 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA.
