Meet for an intro class for baby massage“I thought we were going to do some massage instead of just being informed about it. ...
Did you know that the lead researcher at the University of Miami School of Medicine's Touch Research Institute says that children do not receive enough touch and that ALL children should receive a daily massage from a parent? Did you know that research shows massage lowers levels of stress hormones in baby and parent, strengthens immunity, enhances neural development, increases absorption of nutrients, relieves colic, promotes sleep and raises levels of serotonin and oxytocin, the "cuddle hormone"? As the mother of six and grandmother of four, I have studied and seen the results of touch in a child's life and I want to share what I know because massage is such a simple way to make sure our children grow up to be emotionally and mentally sound adults. Nothing reassures an infant/child like loving touch and that security strengthens the attachment between child and parent forming a strong basis for development. Learning the strokes is fun and easy and a great way to spend time with other parents. Knowing the strokes helps parents spend more time massaging so that it becomes part of a regimen, not just during infancy but all the way to adolescence. All parents of children birth to 12 months are welcome as well as expectant parents who can learn and practice on our life-like dolls. Our meetups will be at Moonbeams, The Sleep Shop for Little Ones, in Scottsdale starting in April. If you are interested contact me before to reserve a place or check us out on our website.
