Once again we are rescheduling this event. This is for the just open Minus 5 Ice Bar at the NY Hilton Hotel. After many delays and 8 months, they did have their grand opening this pass weekend. For those who have no idea what an ice bar is, I will explain. This is an actual bar lounge that is completely made of ice. From the ceiling, floors, furniture, bar, fixtures, statues and even the glasses, all made of ice. This room is an actual work of art and has to be seen to believe it. There are only 2 other places like this in the country and it appears to be a major attraction for NYC. Although this is an actual working bar, you are really paying for the experience. You are not required to purchase any drinks here if you don't want too. The basic admission charged is $20 per person + tax. This allows you admission to the ice bar and the rental of clothing they will set you up with before you enter. There are several other package deals here available, that you will find out when you get here. The basic package does not give you any drinks, that is your option if you want to order. The temperature in here is 23 degrees F. You will be given a locker before you enter for your clothing and cell phones, cameras, etc. which must be left behind. They do there own photos here and they are available for purchased. I have deliberately set this up in a couple of weeks in the hot weather. This is the only time we will be scheduling this for our group. If you do RSVP for this event, you must be there by 2:00. We do need time so they can set us up as a group, so we all enter at once. If you have any questions pertaining to this, just ask it on the board and I will give you an answer. Anyone interested after we leave here, Arlene and I will be stopping to eat in the vicinity and beer/drinks will be available.
