This group was started to share our knowledge of the therapeutic use of aromatic plants & essential oils, restoring the science of aromatherapy to a truly holistic & professional art. Essential oils are very powerful & would most likely put some drug companies out of business if fully utilized by everyone. The inherent difficulty is that oils vary in quality and reliability, so people have varied results. Quality essential oils, both organic & therapeutic, are available from a host of suppliers who do not make ridiculous claims & whose prices are not inflated by multilevel marketing practices. Our senses connect us to the world and allow us to respond to our environment. Essential oils fill our senses & trigger physiological & psychological responses in our bodies. From birth to old Age our eyesight & other senses wane, however, our sense of smell never weakens because the cells regenerate every 24 days. The nose is capable of recognizing some 500,000 different odors. Smell transports as well as heals. Advanced practitioners of Aromatherapy as well as beginners & those who are just starting out are all welcome. The monthly meetings are great introductions to classes we offer at our healing center. Each month, I will host an in-person gathering at The Center For Health & Healing in Toms River. Each month will cover a specific topic related to essential oil practice and safe uses. Members of the group can also share their experiences. This is an informal group so people may ask questions throughout. Our focus is education and the safe practice of using essential oils. And lastly, this group does not promote any particular oil, supplier or distiller. Aromatic First Aid Kit "2000 B.C. -- Here, eat this root. 1000 A.D. -- That root is heathen. Here, say this prayer. 1850 A.D. -- That prayer is superstitious. Here, drink this potion. 1940 A.D. -- That potion is snake oil. Here, swallow this pill. 1985 A.D. -- That pill is ineffective. Here, take this antibiotic. 2000 A.D. -- That antibiotic is unnecessary. Here, eat this root."

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
