2013 Extra Life 25hr Gaming Marathon

Table Talk Games will be teaming up with St. Francis Health Center again to host a 25hr gaming marathon to participate in the 2013 Extra Life fundraising program. All proceeds of the program go towards helping sick kids at your local Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

This year the event will be held on Saturday Nov 2nd and we will be meeting up to play games for 25hr's  (counting the time change) straight (or for at least as long as you can muster).  More details for this years event are yet to come but mark the date on your calendars and join us for what is sure to be an awesome time which happens to help a great cause!  Visit www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=10651 to sign up and join the team.

TTG will be bringing a large assortment of board games, card games, and dice games to play; and feel free to bring your own favorites. We may also look into scheduling some organized gaming events to hold during the marathon so stay tuned for details!

This year we will be setting up inside Fairlawn Plaza Mall next to the old snack shop in efforts to accessible to more people and to raise awareness of the event to more people to increase attendance.

We raised more money for charity this year, increased attendance, and had a new location that was more easily accessible.

I did like the location better.

Any more special requests while we're finalizing last minute preparations for the big event? Anyone else want to host a RPG session or organized play of some sort?

      Great, so we have 2!

AFter some review, I'll have to limit this to 4 players. So we have room for 2 more. Also, Aaron, we can definitely do this with just you and David if there isn't any other interest.

I have a copy of "Face The Hydra", which is basically a co-op mode for Magic: The Gathering (1-4 players vs. giant monster) and it's a lot of fun. Bring your deck(s) if you want to try it out. ;)

Are there any formal meal plans for any time during the event?

    November 1, 2013

    • Aaron S.

Yes, bring any snacks and food that you would like. But further more, there will be some food provided for meals! Donuts in the morning (Sat) from Bakers Dozen, Subway for lunch, and pizza delivered sometime in the evening like we did last year. I'm waiting to hear back on some details but hopefully most of this is being donated. If that's the case, feel free to kick in a few more bucks to the donation jar to help the cause. This should be a blast!

I've been meaning to ask, are they letting us stay at Fairlawn for the whole 25 hrs?

    November 1, 2013

    • Aaron S.

Yup, that's the plan. We'll be in the mall "lobby" the whole time!

When is the cut off date to join team? I won't know if I still have tomorrow off until end of day and could still get called in tomorrow morning.

      November 1, 2013

    • Aaron S.

No cut off. You can sign up even if you end up not being able to making it out. We're just trying to do as much fundraising as possible.

  • Michael N.

Hey, all. I am going to try and run a Dungeons and Dragons adventure during the extra-life event. It is called Murder in Baldur's Gate, and I'll be using the D&D Next playtest rules. Probably start around 6:00 pm. If you're interested, drop me a line. I'll be limiting the group size, so first come, first serve.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
