This "Colorado Christmas" event takes us to the warm, loving country style days in Coloardo during the 1890s, with sleigh bells ringing on horse drawn carriages. This Four Mile Historic Park (FMHP) event starts on Sunday, December 7, at 10am and continues until 4pm.

There will be a lot of holiday historic site exploring, and a short carriage ride as a part of our walk during this one-hour "Open Topic" TTW walk. You're all invited to come early or stay later before or after our TTW walk group meets.

As the Walk Hosts, Richard Rew and I (Fran) will meet our Topic Talk Walks walk group at 2:00 pm inside the entrance to the gray meeting hall bulding, next to the gift shop.

Experience Four Mile House decked out for the holidays, play Victorian games with Father Christmas, make your own gingerbread fantasy (add’l charge), sample chestnuts roasted on an open fire, string your own popcorn and cranberries for the Four Mile Tree and much more!

FMHP ADMISSION: $7 adults · $4 seniors/students · Free 5 & under *Horse-drawn rides & food available.

If you have questions, email me [Fran] at [masked], or call me at home at (303) 321-1064. On the day of the walk, you can reach me on my cell phone at [masked].

This would be my first meetup and you've picked a lovely location. I'm a volunteer for JDRF, juvenile diabetes, and we're having a volunteer appreciation during the time of your walk. So sorry to miss so a lovely venue. Judy

We shared a delightful 5-minute horse-drawn hayride together around the Four Mile Historic Park's "Colorado Christmas" festival. Elaine guided us into the Bee House to learn how to make an inexpensive but fun holiday craft toy for children and the young at heart. We created a tootsie roll shaped pop-open gift that had a tiny toy and piiece of candy inside. All it took was an empty toilet paper roll, a little decorative tissue or paper to twist around the roll, one tiny toy and one piece of candy with confetti on either side to stuff inside the roll., and strings or ribbons on each twisted paper end. We had hot apple cider, and laughter with our introductions, before we strolled through the park. Most of us went on the historic house tour together. Every time I go through the tour, I learn something new. Before we left, we spent money on fun affordable things we found in their gift shop.
