Bring your bibles and any additional study materials or commentaries. We usually end by noon. Please RSVP if you plan to attend. I will plan to be there as long as there is one other person RSVP'd. We will meet upstairs in the large meeting room.
There was a time in our American history when knowledge and understanding of the Holy Scriptures by the average person was common. Gradually our society has become Biblically illiterate and I am on a quest to help bring back knowledge of the word. Hi, I started this meetup because I wanted to expose people to the Holy Scriptures of God and encourage and inspire people in study of them for personal and corporate edification. I see my role as a facilitator and encourager in the pursuit of study of God's Word. I hold a dual Masters in Bible and Judaic studies, yet all are welcome regardless of their level of comfort/exposure to the Scriptures. I hope to share the historical-cultural context through which the Scriptures were inspired and written, clarify misconceptions, and see all grow in their knowledge of our timeless Scriptures. We meet on Saturday morning for a time of fellowship and study of the Torah (First five books of Moses), the prophets and New Testament writings. All are welcome. No previous knowledge of the bible is required only an open heart to learn and help others learn. “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” II Tim 2:15.
