Brian O'connor will talk about how he uses AWS in the Life Sciences space -

"The SeqWare open source project is a collection of tools for the
analysis and metadata tracking of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)data.  Over the last year Nimbus Informatics has ported the
infrastructure to run within Amazon's cloud. The result is a system
that's analyzed 20 human genomes worth of sequence data for a diverse set of projects.  In this talk Brian will explore the details of the system we have built and describe the challenges for high-performance computing (HPC) on the cloud."

Alex Bewley, CTO of uptime software; presenting uptimeCloud - AWS cost monitoring and analysis.   We'll be talking about why we built it, challenges we had, and what current beta users are saying, and how we help them solve a problem every AWS user has.

Great presentation by OICR. Loved the way cloud computing is being used to good like cure cancer and breeding super potent cannabis : )

Enjoyed both presentations, and found that they were very complimentary as the first was more technical nuts'n'bolts, while the second was very valuable from a business/management perspective.
