2nd Half Discussion of the Wind Bird Chronicle- Haruki Murakami

Hello Brookies!

It is time for our 6th Meetup and 2nd part discussion of The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. This takes us to 600 pages!

Please join us for a brunch at the Hot House Café! We can sit on the patio or inside depending on the noise level.

Hot House Cafe is a Toronto staple and has a great food selection.  We will be getting a special book and brunch menu designed by the kitchen team. The total cost of the price fix menu including gratuity and taxes is $ 20.

Hot House Cafe has a great drink selection of cocktails and beers perfect for the patio weather for you to try but alcoholic drinks are not included in the price above.

Please come to the meeting with $ 20 cash and a discussion question.

We will be switching up the book selection as it does take time from our book discussion. On our poll tab, which you can find under the More tab, we will be listing 5 books that you can vote on for the next selection. The poll closes the day before the meetup. The current poll is up as of today for the September/October meetup.

If you do RSVP, please do not cancel last minute as there is usually a big waiting list and we can only limit these meetups to 25  people. Please be respectful to your fellow Brookies! Lately, we have had a lot of cancellations close to the day of the meetup or even on the day of the meetup. If you do signup, please be conscious of this.

Let me know what everyone thinks about the book so far. Let's discuss it on twitter @booknbrunch! Follow us and get the reviews and discussion going!

See you all soon!

Quick NY Times summary/review of the The Wind up Bird... Interesting last line... 'In ''The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle'' Murakami has written a bold and generous book, and one that would have lost a great deal by being tidied up.

Interesting book and discussion. Thanks Zuzana for organizing...
