I'm not a developer, but I've been running Linux for over a decade, and know my way around the shell and how to compile and troubleshoot installing software. Lately I've been scripting up a storm with Ruby, and doing codeschool.com tutorials to start building up my chops.
Yup! Just got a Lenovo recently.
My main language is Ruby, I've been using Git for version control, and Geany for coding. I must have tried a dozen different setups, but so far this flow is sticking. I want to get better with Vim (like all the cool kids!) and eventually make the full switch.
I'd like to get a better handle on Eclipse maybe. I'm really down to try any language. I like seeing how the same problems gets worded in different languages, and understanding the best use for each one. So long as I've got some syntax highlighting on, I'm good for Python, Java, and C++.

Friendly bunch, will definitely go again.
