Hello Everyone my name is Athanasios.
This is the first planning of such an event so please be patient with me through the growing pains.
First of all it is fantastic that a Greek Meetup group in GTA exists. Great idea and thank you very much Niko. Also thank you very much to all members who make this vital and possible!
Lately I noticed a significant joining activity in the group and I thought this is an ideal time and great reason to suggest a pre-christmas meetup. My vision for this meet-up in December is to get to know each other, speak some Greek and mainly to have fun in a cosy, familiar and friendly atmosphere. Maybe with time the hopefully many future to follow Greek meet-up events, will become a platform to discuss emerging issues and also a support group for Greek speakers new and old in Toronto that aim to connect with the Greek-speaking world in, and, the Greater Toronto Area community.
I suggest this time as meeting place the Cafe Demetre in Greektown (400 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M4K 1P3) and on December the 8th at 14:00. I look forward to welcoming you all to this encounter and join me for a coffee, maybe some dessert, and plenty of conversation in Greek (and English).
Although the event officially starts at 14:00 PM, you may arrive at any time during the afternoon. Please RVSP, because this will help with the planning and when you sign up it encourages others to join us too! I am sure you will identify us, but if you cannot find us please ask for the “Greek Meetup”.
We look forward to seeing everyone and please spread the word about the group in your circle of friends and acquaintances.
