If you want to talk with native speakers to learn a new language, improve your language skills, or are simply eager to discover new cultures, you have found the right place!.

The goal of the Toronto Language & Culture Exchange (TLCX) is to connect local people and people who have come to Canada from other countries in order to help them understand each other's culture and languages while developing new friendships.

Whether you are someone fond of foreign languages, a student, a recent immigrant, an employee of an international company or a world traveler, this group brings together native and non-native speakers of many different languages from various countries around the world who have a passion for sharing their their culture, language and overseas experiences while learning about others. We also want newcomers and visitors to see, enjoy, and learn more about Toronto.

TLCX meets every Saturday and encourages long term friendships between members. Our members speak many different languages including English, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Farsi, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Hindi and Turkish.

When you come in, just fill out a tag with your name and native language, and introduce yourself to one of our coordinators—you can ask one of the servers to point them out—who can introduce you to others with the same language interests.

Remember to please buy a drink (or two, three, or four) to support our hosts at Alibi Bar & Lounge. Their food menu is also excellent, so you don't need to eat before coming. You can enjoy makkoli and soju with Korean food; sake with Japanese food; or cocktails, beer and wine with western food. It's all good!
