Sunday Morning High Park 5 km (with options for either 2.5 km or 7.5 km)

Meet at Grenadier Restaurant (center of the park, ample parking), run south along the east side of Grenadier Pond, east along the south border of the park (the Queensway), north at Snake Mound, between the zoo and children's park, through the trail to the north border of the park (Bloor St.), west then south again along the west border of the park through the trails back to West Road finishing at the Grenadier Cafe.

What you need: good running shoes and comfortable running attire including running pants, hat, running gloves, a warm inner layer and a good shell outer layer. Come hydrated.

We can rehydrate in the restaurant afterward. There is a washroom there as well.

Those wishing to run a shorter 2.5 km (excellent distance for beginners) can run the first half of this route with us then depart from us at Centre Road and return back up to Grenadier Cafe where we will meet you at the end.

...and for those looking to add a little more to this run, you have the option of adding an additional 2 km loop outside the west side of High Park, just before the end of the regular 5 km run. It includes a steep stair climb (connecting at the top of Valleymede to the Pallisades), a mostly flat loop west to Windermere and back, returning down the steep hill (Ellis Park Rd.) before rejoining the regular 5 km route for a final finish (running up the hill back to West Road at Grenadier Cafe). This additional loop is added for those who wish to strengthen their calves with a couple of very challenging hills, but not recommended for beginners.

Great 'four peaks' run! Enjoyable conversation while we kept up a good pace.
