Who organized?
Laurie

Since this is our first meeting I'd like to get to know the new members and find out if anyone would like to be an assistant organizer or would like to help out in any way. We can also discuss potential topics and other locations for our next meeting.

If you'd like to bring food or snacks please feel free to do so.

This meetup is located at Monarch Park - a great outdoor setting for a meetup http://www.toronto.ca...

*** If it looks like the weather will be rainy that day we will meet at Sarah's Pub nearby. It's located on the Danforth at Monarch Park Ave. just North of the park. I will e-mail the group ahead of time if we are going to have to move.

It's close to a children's playground and has a dog off-leash area so members are welcome to bring both children and dogs. There are benches and tree trunks to sit on as well as free street parking. It's close to Coxwell subway station if you're taking the TTC.

The meetup is on Tuesday, September 16, 200 at 7:00pm. Please RSVP to let me know if you can make it.

Laurie I suspect knows this; but for those who don't, Sarah's Cafe (really a pub) is a great little place with good food and a very wide selection of beer (both import (a good 20 or so to choose from) and national/region). As noted, it's one block east of Greenwood Stn or one block west of Coxwell Stn; it's on Danforth, north-east corner of Danforth and Monarch Pk (I used to live just up the street from it (so I might be abit biased ;))).

The weather on Tuesday evening is supposed to be clear but if it rains we are meeting at Sarah's Pub on the Danforth at Monarch Park Ave. It's two blocks West of Coxwell subway station. Looking forward to our first meetup! See you soon.

Hi All - Looking forward to our first meet-up! Just wondering ... if it rains, should we have a back-up location?

Thanks for a great first meetup everyone! It was wonderful to meet you all and to hear your stories about how you became interested in "survivalism". I want to ensure that everyone who joins this group gets what they came here for - so you and I are both responsible for making that happen. Please let me know what you'd like to learn or if you have recommendations for group leaders or educators. And, of course, if you just want to get to know like-minded "survivalists" that's great too. - Laurie
    •  Damn. I wanted to go but I was at work until 7pm and didn't check my daytimer till right now (8:30pm night of) I wish I had someone's cell phone so I could call them (I guess they're probably still out there) and let them know - if they're going to stay out for a while, I would drive to meet them but at this point, I don't know if they've called it a night, or it's still going strong. Anyhow, I"ll try again with this group. Thanks!

The first meeting was a pleasant way to get to meet each other and start to work on ideas of what the group is for and what we might want to work towards. It's a diverse group of people and will bring divergent and interesting viewpoints and thoughts to the group and what happens therein.
    •  I think everyone shared and had similar views on where we can go with this group. The people are all friendly with a good energy all around.
