Everyone did a great job following the compass bearings. I fell that there were some major leaps in understanding on how to get from A to B as well as C and how to get and back to A again. Thanks Joe for finalizing the letters and explaning to everone how the course was set up.

Thanks for the compass Doug. I was too lazy to dig in my BOB to find it. I knew you would like 10 on you.:)

This will be one of those meetups that you don't want to miss. If you go out to the woods alot this skill is almost as important as making fire. We are very fortunate to have Doug doing this with us, who has lot of know how when it comes to navigating with a compass.

i don't have a compass. can you suggest where i can obtain a reliable one for a reasonable price? or would a magnetized needle floating on water suffice :)

Hi Tina, If you don't own a compass, a magnetized needle in water would be fine. We are going to have alot of different compasses there and will discuss the pros and cons of each. So you might want to wait until after the meetup to purchase the compass which suits your needs best.

The main focus of this event will be on compass use. Maps will be covered in depth on another meet-up. Please being a compass if you have one and we will try to discuss the good and not so good points of each one.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
