Bow & Arrow Workshop!

Join Joe, Organizer of the United Survivalist Network of Ontario for a bow & arrow workshop! We will look at bows & arrows as survival tools, how difficult it would be to use a store made vs. a home made and then we will use them at the range.

Joe will bring some recurve and compound bows and arrows which you are welcome to try out. If you have your own bows, please feel free to bring them. You will not be allowed to use cross bows. If you are using your own arrows they have to be field tipped, NO BROAD HEADS.

Note: A donation of $5 is suggested for this meetup (but not required) to cover the cost of wear and tear of the arrows. You may pay Joe upon your arrival to the meetup.

Here are some photos from two bow & arrow workshops we did last year:

For FREE Parking you have 3 options (or you may pay to park at the Science Centre):

1) If you arrive early enough, there are some spots available on the road near the end of Gateway Blvd (go west on Gateway, off Don Mills) just north of the Archery Range.

2) Park at the Shoppers Drug Mart lot, on the East side of Don Mills - just across the road from the range. There is a small road leading into the park North of the range.
The map may be seen here: https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=210542251799525274209.0004ca574117fd253c344&msa=0&ll=43.714069,-79.337125&spn=0.006204,0.009645
Of course, there is always the risk to get tagged/towed if your car spends more than 2 hours on that parking lot…but you can go move it around for another 2 hours.

3) https://maps.google.com/maps?q=m4g+2z8&hl=en&ll=43.715411,-79.344614&spn=0.011399,0.01929&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=50.69072,79.013672&hnear=Toronto,+Ontario+M4G+2Z8,+Canada&...
Go to Eglinton/Leslie intersection, go north 200 yards and turn left, go to the bottom of hill and turn left, follow till the end and there is a free parking lot. There is a paved path out of the lot heading under the bridge you can follow. Although it is a nice path, it is about a 15min walk.

I hope to see you there!
Colleen

I love that this was announced ~3 months in advance. It give me plenty of time to plan for this. I also love that it's on a weekend so it's more practical to accommodate when not living in Toronto.

Hi everyone. I'm really sorry Joe is not available to hold another Bow & Arrow meetup this summer. He had opened up two extra bow & arrow meetups on on June 1 and June 23 to account for the waiting list we have on this meetup, however, there is still a waiting list. If you are on the waiting list, please stay tuned to your email to see if someone has cancelled and you will be updated to "attending". We will be holding another Bow & Arrow workshop in the future, perhaps in the fall, but if not, definitely next summer. Also just a reminder, A donation of $5 is suggested for this meetup (but not required) to cover the cost of wear and tear of the arrows. Please pay Joe upon your arrival to the meetup. Thanks!

Hello everyone! Wow!!! I anticipated the bow & arrow event would be popular but had no idea 20 spots would fill up in less than 12 hours!!! I just sent Joe an email to open up a second meetup event for this. I will keep you posted in case the other date/time suits you better, you can make the switch. Thanks everyone! Colleen

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
