The slingshot: the schoolboys hunting tool...

Hunting can be as easy as carrying a firearm to the extreme like making a sling out of a bandanna with everything in between like the slingshot and slingbow. What we choose to carry with us could save our lives or make gathering wildlife for food much easier. However, we must have some idea as to what there is in the way of survival hunting gear that can be carried. So with this meet up, we will be discussing ways to hunt for our meat and what can we do or carry with us to help ensure our survival needs are met.

We will look at making and using the slingshot. What we will need is some sort of rubber tubing, some small cordage and a sharp knife. Too add the slingbow, we will need a large key ring and two rubber bands.

This event will be hosted by Joe, Organizer of The United Survivalist Network of Ontario.

Note: This event will be held outside. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking on uneven terrain and dress for the weather. This event will be held rain or shine, however for safety reasons will be cancelled in a thunder storm.

Using a slingshot is alot harder than it looks! Making them and having them work well is an entirely different challenge. This was fun and highlights how important it is to develop new practical skills and practice them. As always thanx Joe and thx Colleen for the pics

That was alot of fun, building our own slingshots and then using them (along with store bought ones) to hit targets. Thanks Joe!
