Underwater Hockey is an exciting sport involving strategy, skill and fitness. Played at the bottom of a pool using snorkeling gear, teams try to get the weighted puck into the opposing goal by using short curved sticks. The sport is relatively low-impact, a good cross-training activity and offers an interesting break from other traditional sports.

We recently created a Facebook group. Check it out, add photos and interact with the other members of the club.

College Royal Tournament - Sat March 16, 2013 - As a group we participated in an all-day UWH tournament at University of Guelph. The tournament, College Royal, has been running for 34 years and features various teams from the region. We had roughly 20 people split into two squads, The Tentacles and The Tempests, the action was intense and we all shared in a grand experience!

Recently we were featured in a video report on Yahoo! Sports Canada.

Also our lead organizer Emmanuel was featured in a radio interview with Seamus O'Reagan on Newstalk 1010! Here's a link to the podcast and the interview starts around the 20:00 mark.

Our club is newly formed and members come from all kinds of backgrounds. The games feature a mix of beginners to experienced players and we try to accommodate needs where possible. Both men and women play together (aka "co-ed") and generally we have a ratio of 60-70% male to 30-40% female. The atmosphere is very social and we maintain a high level of respect and safety.

Location: The club plays weekly at the Trinity-Bellwoods pool in downtown Toronto (Strachan & Queen St. West) where parking is available and there's easy access by transit. The money charged per player goes directly to the expense of the city permit for use of the pool.

Equipment: There's a large cache of used equipment available to anyone, especially beginners. Ideally any returning player should bring as much of their own equipment as possible. After a few games most players start purchasing their own equipment. Generally, if you have snorkeling gear, you should bring it. Don't forget your swimsuit and a towel!

To order gear, we have an affiliate membership (which means a certain % of purchases go towards club credit) with an excellent online retailer Equal Puck.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
