We meet online three times a week:
-Monday
-Wednesday
-Saturday

Attendance
Average attendance on Monday and Wednesday: 75 people
Average attendance on Saturday: 60 people

Keep in mind that we speak half time in English and half time in Spanish. We help each other to learn both languages.

Depending on the attendance and nationality, breakout rooms are made with 4-6 people:
-2 English native speakers
-2 Spanish native speakers
-1 other language native speaker

Format
The meetings last 2 hours and it is divided in 5 periods.
-30 minutes speaking in English (Breakout room)
-30 minutes speaking in Spanish (Breakout room)
-20 minutes speaking in English (Breakout room)
-20 minutes speaking in Spanish (Breakout room)
-20 minutes to meet everyone and speak in either English or Spanish (Main room)

Community
We have 11 MeetUp groups gathering at the same time (Mexico City, Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, New York, London, Chicago, Las Vegas, Medellin, Santiago de Chile, and Houston). However, during the language exchange, you will meet people not only from the countries where there are groups opened, you will meet people from all over the world.

Hi there! My name is Nathali Giraldo, I am from Colombia. I have been attending the Meetup group "Se habla Inglés y Español" since October of 2021. These meetings have helped me considerably to practice and improve my english. In this group, I have met friends from everywhere. Currently, I am organizing the Saturday Meetups.

During the week, there is an average attendance of 75 people per meeting, on weekends the attendance is approximately 60 people. Keep in mind that people who speak Spanish as their first language are going to help you learn their language, just as they also expect you to help them learn English.

The MeetUp lasts two hours; you can enter and stay for one or two hours. Each meeting is divided into 4 conversations of 30 minutes each, 2 conversations in English and 2 conversations in Spanish.

Depending on the attendance, chat rooms with 5 or 6 people are formed.

-1 native speaker of another language

We currently have 12 MeetUp groups (Mexico City, Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, New York, London, Chicago, Las Vegas, Medellin, Santiago de Chile, and Houston) joining at the same time.

During the exchanges, you will meet people not only from the countries where we have open groups; You will also meet people from other countries in America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa, even from countries where English and Spanish are not their first languages.

All events are free; however, in order for our community to continue growing and for you to have more opportunities to learn and practice, join our exchanges, and if you like them and want to help our community to keep the groups active during the year, you can make a one-time donation.
