Ride for Heart 75k - 20-15km/h climbing & 35-40km/h descending - no paceline

  • June 2, 2013 · 5:45 AM

Its always nicer to ride in groups, even if there are 13,000 people riding all around you!

If anyone riding in the Ride for Heart doesn't have a team or group to ride with, and wants to do the stated speed, please join us. There is also another, faster group.

I'll arrange for us to find each other, perhaps by temporarily taping a sign to my helmet and wandering around the start area.

We will try to depart right at the time the 75k route opens, at 6 a.m. We'll let those pro/elite guys who have the motorcycle escort go ahead of us and then we'll be off! : )

I'll be riding with a small group and most of us are meeting at the round fountain just west of the Better Living Centre (at the intersection of Manitoba Rd & Saskatchewan Rd) before 6am. It's an easy landmark to see and near the starting line. But yes, Andy, wear a sign on your helmet!

I shall be glad to oblige. I'm not familiar enough with the setup of the starting area to have recommended a meeting point in advance. Besides, why pass up a chance to look silly?
