Terra Cotta points challenge, with nice prize

I am pleased to announce that thanks to our friends at the Epic Tour Halton, the winner of our Terra Cotta points challenge will get a free entry into the Epic Tour!

For anyone contemplating riding in the Tour de Terra Cotta this is a great opportunity to explore the course and have some fun while at it.

We'll meet in Streetsville and ride up to Terra Cotta along scenic Winston Churchill Blvd. After we do a lap of the Terra Cotta race course at a conversation pace the fun will begin...

Points competition for climbing and sprinting: 5, 3 and 1 point available to the respective finishers either up the climb or across the flat sprint. We will do that for a total of three climbs and sprints, and the person with the most points at the end of the day wins bragging rights and a free entry into Epic Tour Halton.

Basically we will have a group start at the bottom of the climb and the beginning of the straightaway, with no one allowed to pass the pace rider (me) until the marked start line. Riders will have to determine amongst themselves who the winner at each leg was. (Integrity will be a virtue here--if rider's can't agree on their placement then no one gets points for that leg. The finish will be marked.) NB We will NOT be competing on the downhill!

At the end of the day we'll leisurely make our way back to Streetsville along Heritage Road, and enjoy some bragging and heckling over pub food before going our own ways.

So, I'll see you all at the Epic Tour!
By the way, Scenic Caves climb is about 220m over 2km. Average ~10%, max 15%

I'm very sorry that I have to cancel, but I got into an accident on Friday night and I'm quite badly injured. I hope the ride goes well and look forward to hearing the results of the points challenge.

Well I am not much at racing but I dont care if I lose, I just may join you but Andy, I ride these roads all the time, Heritage is much nicer than Winston Churchill, less traffic.

Winston gets narrow really quick, and there's that nice climb right after Bovaird. I'll have to go out the night before to check on the status of the construction, maybe we'll have to go along Heritage after all.

Main St. If heading north on Queen St. it should be the next lights after Thomas St. on the right hand side.

Just thought I should point out that we're talking about Queen St in Streetsville, not Brampton nor Toronto! :-)
