- Distance (total): Approximately 30 KM

3. Ride requirements:

- Break(s): We will take a 10-15 min break once we reach the mid-point location before riding back
- Bike type: Any

4. Additional notes:
- This ride is weather permitting;
- Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water (important to hydrate) and if needed snacks;

- By taking part in this event you attest: a) you are in good health, b) you participate at your own risks, and c) you release the organizer(s) from any responsibility;

P.S. I intend to do other variations of this ride and to ride on other paths when I have enough time to plan and test the rides. Suggestions they would be welcomed.

    Is it raining in Toronto? It started down pouring here in Pickering...

      Yeah, wasn't up for driving down there and ride in the rain. If I lived there, then I would've been there for sure

      You've been so enthusiastic. If I live that far, I probably won't make any of these. Hopefully we can make it the Niagara one.

    Adventurous!

    Soaked to the bone but it was a great invigorating ride. Near the end of the ride my gears and chain were grinding/jamming - my gear cable broke and and became entangled in my gears. Didn't realize it in the rain and darkness.

      I hope you got back safely! I had a problem with my back brakes, it kept rubbing when I was riding.

    Definitely soaked and a lot of cleaning was required; it gave me the opportunity to test my bike in the rain; I concluded it handles well!

      I took it pretty easy in the rain. I didn't want to slip. I wiped my bike down when I got home, I seemed to have got dirt and sand everywhere lol.

    Small turnout but I cannot blame people for not wanting to brave the rain.

      Sorry, this is not a difficult route but in the rain it is not easy; you can try it when it is dry

      A Technical Route in the rain..

      July 31, 2013

  • Brian p.

    Man, it took me an hour to clean the mud off my road bike... It was light showering around 7pm but at 8;30pm it just started to pour and we were just at Edwards Garden... I also found my brakes were loosened as well... Overall, a different but technical and fun ride

    Anybody know of any free parking spot in the vicinity of the meeting spot?

    July 31, 2013

    • David B.

      Hi David, you can park at the T&T supermarket at Cherry St. and Commissioner St. And then ride your bike over to meetup spot which is 1-2km.

    We have 30% POP for 7PM-9PM; I don't think it will stop the avid bikers, including me; Should it rain intensely for a few minutes we will find many opportunities to get cover along the path; I look forward to see you all tonight!
