Holiday Monday Ride - POSTPONED

Hi all. As for 9 PM Sunday Environment Canada and the Weather Network both predict a high chance of thundershowers on Monday morning and early afternoon, so I'm afraid I need to call off the ride. Last time I took a chance with a thundershower prediction we got deluged on for about an hour. Sorry.

I hope to re-schedule the ride soon, maybe next weekend, I need to confirm my schedule for the Film Festival first. I'll see if I can repost the ride in a day or two.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the long weekend!

Let's do a leisurely city ride on the holiday Monday.

We'll meet up at Christie Pits Park (NW corner of Bloor and Christie). Ride north to Devenport / Dupont, and then south thru High Park to the Waterfront and the start of the Humber River Trail. We'll ride that to Eglinton, and then west on the Eglinton Bike Path. Then south on the West Deane Park Trail, eventually connecting with Royal York, and south the the Waterfront Trail. Then east to Strachan and back north to the start. We can break then for some ice cream or lunch.

The ride will be primarily on bike paths or streets with bike lanes, and will be about 30 in length. Max speed will be about 20 km/hr. The ride will be suitable for all types of bikes.

My cell number on the day of if you are running late is[masked]-7019. Hope to see you there!

Did a shortened version of this ride and got caught in the rain by the Humber. It was awesome (minus the whole not being able to brake well, but luckily there were no more downhills left by that time)! Rain is not scary

I went for a morning ride to bluffer's park. I ended up going 68km/hr down the hill! Lucky for me, no rain in the morning. I don't think biking in the rain is scary, it's just that you get wet and you have to clean your bike afterwards.

If the ride goes ahead, maybe about noon. I can't give you an exact time.

The weather report is bouncing around like a ping-pong ball, it changes ever time they update it. I'll see what it says tonight and let everyone know. If they are talking thundershowers I'll postpone, if just showers it'll go ahead.

Hi Donald. Is this ride good for a Level 1+ rider with a comfort bike. Average speed is 16-17 km/hr

    August 30, 2013

    • Donald S.

Yes, you'll have no problem on this ride.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
