Just wondering if you guys/girls went to the show last year and what do they have there that's a good idea to buy? And I guess there's good deals there?

The deals vary from year to year, because it depends on what vendors decide to bring. But, the best deals can usually be found with high end road bikes, clipless pedal shoes, & other technical gear.

David, I purchased my Cannondale at the bike sale last Fall for a good deal. If you know ahead of time what fits you and what gear you may need, it's a lot easier to shop as it's a bit chaotic with people everywhere, snaking long lines and vendors shouting out their deals. So if you're hunting for new shoes, a new helmet, or some jerseys, it's best to go in knowing what already fits you.
I was thinking of buying a carbon bicycle with 105 or ultrega. I wouldn't want to spend more than $1500 though. I need lots of gear too. How much was your Cannondale Mike and the discount in it?

I think you'll be able to find something carbon and 105 that fits your budget. My CAAD10 was just under $1200 (with 105 as well). I believe at the time, most stores had the CAAD10 listed for about $1700+. My other option was a Specialized Roubaix carbon with 105 for about $1600, but when I saw the CAAD10 in my size, I knew I had to get it! :)

I'm selling my Ultegra 6700 shifters and front/ rear derailleurs if you are interested. 105parts works with these no problem if you plan to build up your bike.
Mike, seems like you got a good deal and is there warrenty on the bicycle? Someone told me to make sure lifetime warrenty when I buy a carbon bike. Nicholas, I might be interested. Maybe we can meet for a bike ride next week and talk. This weekend I'll be out of town.
My bike came with manufacturer's warranty (the vendor included the warranty card). If you buy, make sure you ask about warranty for the frame... i'm sure all vendors have a different policy on that.

Cant do weekends. Next sunday I'm planning to do a ride in Halton hills with a couple of guys I met at the Tour of Mississauga... Come with!
Sorry, I meant "I can't do weekdays"... I'll ride on the weekend!!!
I might also have a Sram Red gruppo available next week (taking it off my tri bike) if you are interested.
Nicholas, hey sorry I meant to reply earlier. Dont think I can do halton hills this sunday, maybe if someone is driving from downtown. Right now, I have 2012 specialized allez stock bicycle. I know nothing about bikes, someone told me I should upgrade to 105 or ultrega. I don't know if its worth upgrading or getting a new bike

Hey David, no worries, it was too cold and I didn't push thru either. I'm building up my tri bike with some new components so I've got spare components I plan to sell (Ultegra and TT Sram Red). There were some good sales on carbon bikes in the show today. Suggest you test drive some carbon bikes. Might be worth the upgrade.
Thanks for posting the even. Ended with some good deals.
Got autocorrected. Thanks for posting the event.
No problem. I hope people will share photos of their booty.
Dennis, can you post some photos of your booty lol :P And sorry I didn't go to the event, I slept I'm and I figured the line would be long and I'm not sure exactly what I wanted.
Got speedplay pedals for $100...
I got two long sleeve jerseys at 50%. Worth waiting for end of the year sales. I wish vendors had more bike components for sale. Was looking for a saddle and a seatpost for a bike build I'm doing and there wasn't much of a selection.
I'm in line. It's crazy longgggg.
Im going in the afternoon denise. Running errands this morning. Let me know how it goes.
anybody meeting up ( pardon the pun) after the show and where and when???
I'm now having a very busy weekend, and something has to give. I'm not really planning on buying a bike right now anyway.

Check out your local marshals or winners. I just bought a long sleeve cycling jersey for $12 on clearance!
Winners doesn't usually carry women's cyclist clothing. They think women do nothing but yoga.

I just wish that Winners knew that men used kettlebells too. although my vinyl wrapped 10kg looks smashing in pink.
Michael, what is Marchals, a store? I didn't know winners had bicycle gear, I'll take a look. Felippe, how is the shipping /duties at Aliexpress, sometimes that kills the deal.
Is there a place we are meeting....any plans to go out for coffee afterwards???

This is no time for socialising. It's every man or woman for him or herself in an orgy of consumerism.
2 · October 6, 2013
Kidding. I think the only time we can meet up would be in line before opening. If anyone wants to state when they plan to arrive, others can join up at that same time.
I'm planning to line up at 9am to take part of this so-called "orgy"
Line up earlier than 9am. Seriously.
