Thank you everyone that came out on a beautiful day for biking, hopefully not the last of the year. And I hope you enjoyed the rest of your afternoon exploring the spits, I got to the airport just as my Dad's plane was landing so it was perfect timing.

The Leslie St Spit (Tommy Thompson Park) is one of my favourite places to ride. I've even come to this area at night (of course you should have lights on your bike). The view of the downtown from the Spit is spectacular with all the buildings' lights on. If anyone gets a chance to do this, go for it.

On other notes, next Friday Oct 25 will be a Critical Mass bicycle ride beginning at the southeast corner of Bloor/Spadina. Critical Mass is world-wide so every major world city will have their own respective event. If you're on Facebook, check out Toronto Critical Mass. The event is basically a mass of cyclists just taking over the major streets of the downtown area, and whoever is at the front leads the mass. This event usually lasts a couple of hours, however no one is has to stay for the whole event. People do drop out here and there along the route.

Will the marathon be a problem? Lakeshore will be closed.

Never been to Leslie Spit. Is the trail suitable for skinny tires of road bikes?

Eddie, yes it is. I have a 700x25 and it seems to do fine on the path. There are a couple of rough patches if you take the longer side of the fork, but mainly you should be fine.
