The only upside to my tennis elbow injury is that I can join you for this ride. Will be on my mountain bike but think that I should be able to maintain the stated speed.

RL Kelly, thanks for the reply; after a couple online searches it seems the teeth are about 4k from my shack,, what time do you figure you'll be there? am riding an older heavy blue velosport road bike w/ a green milk crate on the back and I don't have much hair on my melon.

Awesome - we'll find you for sure. I'm just filling in for J-Y - our regular host - so I'll respect his set up 100%. We'll leave at 7pm sharp and be up to the "teeth" by about 7:15-7:30 if we have any tech problems. Looks like we'll be a good group - so we'll be hard to miss. ; )

Could someone please post the course map for this ride? It's usually a good idea to be familiar with the route beforehand. Thanks!

Tough to do for this one - since we change it up a little bit each week. Tonight - we can chat at the start as to exactly where we'll go. Also, we can adopt the "no one gets dropped" approach - so we'll gather up regularly and at/after any trail split - to ensure no one gets lost. And it's on very safe, proven. clearly marked paths - up the Don to Sunnybrook or Edwards Gardens on the paved trails.

I agree with David - if you're new to cycling - this ride will be challenging. I've been thinking of doing an "intro to riding" session - to help with bike fit and some skills - but that's not in the scope of J-Y's ride. There are lots of other, modest pace meet up rides. That being said - if you want to learn to and get fast - there's no better way than to ride with a fast group and be challenged!

Want to come out to my first ride and wondering about the route for this ride. I live near woodbine/danforth and wonder if I could meetup mid-ride rather than adding about 10k by going to the start location. Any thoughts?

    • R. L. K.

Totally doable. There's a logical connection at Taylor Creek and the Don Trails - the are a couple of big "elephant's teeth" there (techinically the "elevated wetlands sculpture") and we can meet you there. What are you riding?

I will not be able to make this ride. Would someone volunteer to lead it?
