MEETUP LOCATION:

We'll Meetup and play inside a Starbucks.

Get off of St. George subway station, walk outside from the Bedford entrance and the Starbucks is right in front of you.  If you don't see a Starbucks when you're outside of St. George station you walked out the wrong entrance.  

Event information:

This will be our inauguration event,  so come out and play some GO.  If you have board and stones  bring it to this event.     If you don't know how to play you can just come out and learn from people that do know how to play. 

Board & Stones:

If you have Board and Stones please bring it to our event.  GO Apps on iPad and Android tablets will be fine as well.

Donations:

There will be a Meetup fees of $1.00, this will help the group running.

    Since there are a lot of new players taking interest, here's a few links that might help.

    http://www.gokgs.com/download.jsp - CGoban client for the KGS Go server. KGS is probably the most used Go client. It's free, and once you've played a few games you establish a rank, so that you can more easily match up against players at your leve.

    http://senseis.xmp.net/?PagesForBeginners - Sensei's Library is a collaborative wiki-like site for all things Go. In the "Pages for Beginners" you can learn the rules and get a basic idea on strategy.

    https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA1F22C258E9FF4BB - Nick Sibicky has a really nice series of Go lectures/lessons on youtube. In generally I'd say these are for more intermediate players, but if you think you have a decent grasp on the basic rules these could be very helpful.
