Ever seen a movie outdoors under the stars? No? Well, here's your chance and it's FREE! Join us for the screening of City Lights, commonly accepted by movie experts as one of the highest accomplishments of Chaplin's career and also one of the greatest films ever made.
We have done this event every year over the past three years and have seen such classics as Casablanca, Fiddler On The Roof and His Girl Friday. This year we get to see a classic romantic film, this time one of Charlie Chaplin's best silent films called City Lights.
The story follows the misadventures of Chaplin's Tramp as he falls in love with a blind girl and develops a friendship with a millionaire.
City Lights was immediately popular upon release, with positive reviews and box office receipts of $5 million which in 1931 was an amazing accomplishment!
We will meet outside the pub at 9:00 PM and walk over together to the square where the movie is being shown. The movie starts at 9:15 PM. I will be wearing a large orange name tag.
Don't forget to bring a lawn chair, bug spray and a blanket if you think you might need it!
