What is Tapas? Well, here's one definition: Tapas is the name of a wide variety of appetizers or snacks in Spanish cuisine. The serving of tapas is designed to encourage conversation since tapas arrive slowly over the course of an evening. In some countries it is even customary for diners to stand and move about while eating tapas!
We're going for an evening of tapas at this hidden away gem of a restaurant on St. Clair West near Christie. We had a group dinner here three years ago and the evening was enjoyed by all -- you know you've had an enjoyable meal when hours go by and then you wonder where the time went.
I have arranged for an extended set menu for our group with recommendations from the owner and chef. The dinner will include dips and pita bread followed by 11 different tapas dishes (yes, 11 dishes!) which will come in waves over the course of the evening. The courses will include things like Sultan's Stew, Kebab Fingers, Potato Moussaka, Veal Shish Kebab, Eggplant with garlic, Baba Ganoush and lots more!
Tonight's dinner is suitable for vegetarians since only 4 dishes are meat.
As always, I recommend loose clothing, elastic waistbands and I suggest you plan on dieting that week! :-)
Price & Prepayment
This is a very small and busy restaurant and we have been allocated 20 seats. To prevent issues with last minute cancellation and no-shows, I am making this a prepaid event. You will be prompted for payment when you RSVP. Payment can be made online using any major credit card or Paypal. A Paypal account is not required.
The price of the dinner is $32 ($25 + tax and tip). This includes the food described above, one soft drink and regular tea or coffee at the conclusion of the meal.
Desserts, alcoholic beverages and specialty teas & coffees are extra. Please settle your bill for those items directly with your servers.
Cancellations with full refund will be allowed up to 3 days before the dinner. See the "Refund Policy" link near the top of this event description for more information.
I look forward to seeing you there.
