Trivia Evening - TV Police Shows of the '70s and '80s

  • Jan 17, 2014 · 7:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Television in the '70s and '80s was the era of police and detective shows. Did you watch any them? Did you have any favourites? Well then, come on down and demonstrate how well you remember your favourite cop shows and heck, you might even win a tacky prize!

Start Time

Please note the slightly later start time of 7:30 PM. We start gathering at 7:30 PM to mingle and chit chat and get to know some of the other members in a casual setting and so that we can get a drink and a bite to eat. The trivia will start at 8:00 PM.

Our game evenings are a perfect event for new members so if you've never been out to one of our events before, this would be a good evening to come out for the first time. I encourage you to come as close to 7:30 PM as you can to allow you time to mix and mingle and get to know other members in a social setting before the trivia starts.

Question Format

You will be assigned to a team of 4 or 5 people and your team will attempt to guess the answer. You write down your answers as a team on the answer sheets. Please don't worry that you will be put in an embarrassing position -- you are never asked a question directly. The intent of this evening is just to provide some fun and amusement and not to create stress.

As usual, there will be two rounds of questions. The teams are mixed up between rounds so that you get to meet a whole new group of people during the second round. At the end of the evening, the people with the highest scores will get a prize.

See you there!

It's a crime I didn't know as much as I thought I did about the cop shows from the 70's and 80's.

Had a great time at probably one of the best places in the city for comfort food, catching up with cool folks.

    Thanks Sash for hosting.

This will be my first TSG meetup! Sounds like lots of fun tonight! But no time to brush up on my 70's/80's Police show trivia! If it was soley on "Love Boat", then I would do amazing!

Sorry I have to cancel too. Traveling going there consume the time of the event.

Sorry but I have to cancel. I have been sick off and on since new year's eve and have not attended any events recently so I was looking forward to this one. I have to try to get rid of this bug so it looks like staying home and having hot toddies this weekend.

I hope to be up and about for the next trivia night.

Kind of ironic this event is next door to Toronto Police HQ's.

Should we ask a member of the K-9 unit to make an appearance?

"There's a hold-up in the Bronx, Brooklyn's broken out in fights, there's a traffic jam in Harlem that backs up to Jackson Heights, there's a scout troop short a child, Kruschev's due at Idlewilde . . . . . "
for some unfathomable reason, I continue to remember all the lyrics to this one all these years later!!!!!!!

I once won a prize on CFRB to see a play Hal Linden was starring in. The question was.....who had the first desk right outside Barney Miller's office?

Sash - is it okay to bring along a few friends, who would pay $5 at the door or are they required to officially join?
I've told them about your events and they would like to try one out first.
