A Cheap Evening At The Horse Races (Woodbine Racetrack & Casino)

How Cheap Is It?

Well, the parking is free and there is no admission fee to see the horse races so if all you want to do is to hang out with us and just watch the races, well, your entire evening is free. That's pretty cheap I'd say!

If you have never attended horse racing in Toronto, this is a perfect evening to do so with the group. If you want to bet on the horse races, the minimum bet is just $2!

Betting Lessons

The very helpful customer service people at the racetrack have again offered to provide betting instructions to our group -- so whether your interest is in putting down a $2 bet on one horse, or whether you want to be more experimental and want to put down larger bets on exactors, triactors and superfectas, this is a great opportunity to come out and get some lessons.

If you would like to attend the horse betting instruction being provided by the staff at Woodbine, I recommend that you try to get there for 6:30 PM.

Dining

If you feel like getting something to eat or drink, there are lots of restaurants, bars and a food court. You are allowed to bring the food back to your seat so you can be eating and cheering.... although I don't recommend doing both at the same time. Not nice for the people seated next to you!

Parking

The best place to park is towards the west side of the building. This is labelled West Parking or Horse Player Parking. The main parking lot tends to be very busy with the patrons of the casino and you may end up far away from the building. Follow the signs for Horse Player Parking.

Meeting Point

I will be standing near the Customer Service desk in the main horse racing area on the 2nd floor until 645 PM. After racing starts, I'll be in the seats with the rest of our group. Look for the Toronto Social Group sign in one of the seating sections.

Arrival Time

The first race is at 6:45 PM but you can join us at any time that evening and leave at any time you wish. If you wish to play the slots, the casino is downstairs, directly below the horse racing area so if you are not having any luck at the horses, you can always try your luck at the casino.

Please remember to bet within your financial means and this should be an evening filled with a lot of fun and a lot of laughter and merriment. And if you happen to win thousands of dollars, the drinks are on you!

See you there!

Believe you can take a TTC bus to Woodbine from Islington Station......

    June 9, 2014

    • Nick

the quickest way by far on TTC is the 191 Express bus from Kipling. it'll leave you at the North East corner of Woodbine mall where you can either walk to the track or wait for the 37 bus that pulls right into Woodbine. By GO Transit the 35 bus from York Mills or Yorkdale is very quick too. http://www.gotransit....
