Let’s get hiking for a worthy cause! Here’s your chance to enjoy the outdoors, get a good workout and give back to our community, all at the same time.
You and many other socially-minded hikers will explore the scenic Rouge Valley while raising money for Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter here in Toronto. Admission to the guided hike is free so that 100% of the money raised can go to the shelter. We would like to collect a $10 donation per hiker and all the funds are given to the Shelter right away as thier employees will be participating with us. For an extra challenge, grab some friends or get some sponsors. Let’s raise as much as possible to help out! On the same day the Rouge valley conservation authorities have another all day event called- Celebrate the Rouge.
*Tax receipts are available upon request.

About the Hike
The hike will be about 3 hours long through the scenic fall beauty of the Rouge Valley. With a medium level difficulty, this hike includes some excellent scenic lookouts and a few good hills to get your heart pumping. We’ll journey through field, stream, and forest, encountering lots of plants and flowers along with the chance to spot some local birds and animals. Dogs are welcome but should be on a leash. Wear good runners or hiking boots, water and snacks and... dress to the weather.
Please meet at the Rouge Valley Conservation Center (Pearse House) by 10.00 am
We should finish by 1:00 pm depending on the pace of the group.
~Bonus Canoeing after the Hike~
What could be better than a hike on a beautiful fall day? A hike and paddle, of course!
Following our hike, canoes will be available for a paddle down the Rouge River. The rental fee will be $35, with $10 of this amount going to Ernestine’s.
You can canoe and hike on the dame day...or just hike or just canoe. End Summer on a fabulous note!
