Scarborough Bluffs Hiking and Food Party BBQ - Sunday, July 10 @ 2:30 p.m.

BEAUTY: The Scarborough Bluffs is a natural beauty located close to home.

=====================================

UPDATE: Because of the permit requirement, we won't be having a BBQ at Scarborough Bluffs.

We'll be spending the day at Bluffers Park, having a food party and enjoying the scenery. Come and play frisbee, volleyball, soccer and enjoy a natural wonder of Toronto! Once we're done eating, we'll go hiking along the Bluffs.

Here's what we'll have at Bluffers Park:

-Fried chicken (KFC)

-Salad

-Cookies

-Muffins

-Pasta salad

-Drinks

There's a $2 Meetup fee, but if you can bring any items to help us out, the Meetup fee will be waived.

IF THE WEATHER IS RAINING, I'LL POSTPONE THIS EVENT. So be sure to check this event a day before.

About the Scarborough Bluffs (From Wikipedia):

The Scarborough Bluffs (also known as The Bluffs) is an escarpment in the Scarborough district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Forming much of the eastern portion of Toronto's waterfront, it is located along the shoreline of Lake Ontario. At its highest point, the escarpment rises 65 metres (213 ft) above its foot and spans a length of 14 kilometres (8.7 mi). It was first named in 1793.

The Bluffs has been described as a "geological wonder" and a unique feature in North America.

Where to Meet and how to get to Scarborough Bluffs:

Getting to Scarborough Bluffs both by car and TTC can be somewhat difficult (perhaps that's why it's so well-preserved!). But with the right directions, you'll get there.

BY TTC: From Victoria Park subway station, take the 12 Kingston Road bus and get off at Brimley Road. You'll have to walk SOUTH to Bluffers Park from there. It's about a 10-minute walk.

BY Car: Scarborough Bluffs isn't close to any major highways. But the closest exit would be Brimley Road on Highway 401. From there, just drive south all the way down to Lake Ontario. I believe you have to pay for parking (about $2-$3).

Where we'll meet: We'll be at Victoria Park subway station at 2:30 p.m. where the collector booth is. After 15 minutes, we'll be taking the bus down to the Scarborugh Bluffs.

If you get lost or need directions, you can call me[masked]-9218.

PRICING AND COSTS

If you're driving down to the Bluffs, you may have to pay for parking.

A $2 donation for the KFC food would be appreciated.

It was a great event. Sorry for the confusion about where to meet up, didn't expect Bluffers Park to be so full on a Sunday!

Great fun. Maybe next time we could do this earlier in the day. Also, we could list items that are needed, and people can choose which ones they want to bring.

@Minh: You can come and leave anytime you like! I imagine we'll be settling down at picnic tables. But give me a call on my cell phone if you still cannot find us.

Would it be alright if I come an hour or two late as I have a previous engagement? If so, where will I meet you up at or is the exact location not determined until you actually get there?

The event title, and event time should be changed to 2:30 since we're meeting up at 2:30. Also, I think we should meet inside the paid area, so people don't have to pay again to get back in.
