Taiwan is a hi-tech island with lots of graduate students studying overseas in North America and Britain. But we are a relatively smaller community in Toronto as compared to other Asian groups. Meeting other fellow Taiwanese is not so common. 

 

We hope that through this group we can promote awareness of Taiwanese culture, food and language. As far as travel destinations go, Taiwan is Asia's best kept secret and it's also a big market for English teachers.

 

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A TAIWANESE TO JOIN THE GROUP! EVERYONE IS WELCOME!! You do not need to speak Chinese to join. 

 

This group would be ideal for 

a) People who like to know more Mandarin speakers, either English speakers or Mandarin speakers themselves.

b) Anyone interested in Taiwanese or Chinese culture, or simply like to make some friends here.

c) Locals of Taiwanese descent. 

d) People who have taught English or stayed in Taiwan, or want to travel/teach English there in the future.

e) Anyone interested in attending events of this group. (Most of the time people communicate in English in our events.)
