Zakkushi - Japanese Charcoal Grill Diner

I was in a cab on Wednesday night passing through Cabbagetown when I noticed a restaurant with lovely Japanese lanterns in the window all lit up. Then I saw the sign - Zakkushi Charcoal Grill Diner. Sounds intriguing, doesn't it?

This is Japanese pub food at it's finest. They specialize in bite-sized veggies and meats skewered and cooked over an open grill.

Here's a sampling of some of their tantalizing offerings:

* Chicken thigh with spicy cod roe mayo

* Crunchy and juicy pork with onion sauce

* Garlic stubs wrapped with pork

* Waygu beef with Oropon sauce

* Deep-fried chicken knee cartilage

There are also creative salads, sushi, and more.

Check out the menu here...and it has tons pictures to fulfill your yakitori-filled fantasies!

    This is the site that I mentioned in the dinner (someone asked me to share it here, but I forgot who asked and if more than one person asked). Sacha wrote the web application to track her wardrobe and other stuff... so for any of you who is eager to track your clothes/things, you can create an account and check it out. Since we are talking about clothing... I found this very interesting.

    Just saw this after I got home, and I have been practicing it.... Those of you who don't read Chinese or Japanese, just watch til the end of the video and you will understand what it is about... :-) And the free iPhone apps was "myscript calculator", a must for most meetup attendees... It can calculate your bills in whatever equations you can come up with. :-)

    Thanks Adrienne for organizing this. It was great to finally met you (Can't you imagine I only met Adrienne for the first time tonight?!) I passed by this restaurant few times every week but never stopped to eat there. Glad that I finally checked it out. It's a keeper. :-)

    You will love it there...there is just so much choice that the best way to do it is just order a pile of food and share--right Tim?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
